Mindfulness for Youth
Mindfulness practice also known as ‘meditation’ can help children improve attention, self-control, and emotional resilience among many other benefits. Mindfulness is defined as being aware in the present moment, on purpose and free of judgment. Toby Kumin offers mindfulness training for children in K-12. She has trained in the “Mindful Schools” method. The mindfulness curriculum involves a series of 10 minute sessions with the children. Experience has shown that youth truly benefit from mindfulness practice because it gives them a tool for helping them calm themselves in times of stress, become aware of their emotional responses and finding inner joy.
